Attack of the Other 99% of the Ocean
Most classic monster films use common and well known ocean animals, such as sharks and crabs, to terrify people. The other 99% of ocean life, the snails, sea stars, polychaete worms, and many others eat or hunt in terrifyingly unique ways. This is my petition to include these lesser known guys into the horror genre.
The sea star when eating will push it’s stomach outside its body and digests it prey alive, imagine if it was larger than a house….
The Seastar in this short, based on a Pycnopodia helianthoides, was created using silicone and a two part mold.
